Lewes Catalyst Club Feb 13th
In January we learned about ‘dream fishing’ from Kate Alderton; discovered how Steve Bustin had his online profile stolen and used on dating sites (and how he made the best of a bad situation), while Mark Dishman told us about the legend of chime children: those born between midnight and 1 am on a Friday night/Sat morning, said to be imbued with magical and musical powers.
For February we welcome Lewesian writer Catherine Smith and two other brilliant speakers, to be revealed on the night.

The Catalyst Club is a long-running and popular spoken word salon at which everyday folk share their passions with three 15 minute talks.
Topics are random but inspiring. In January we learned about the heroism of failure from musician Pete Fij (once signed to Creation records) and the history and origins of pantomime from West End director Carole Todd. Artist Becky Edmunds revealed the story of how she discovery 50 years worth of one man’s extraordinary diaries in a street in Hove and turned them into a fascinating and ongoing film project.
While topics are never revealed until the night, for Valentine’s Day it’s just possible that there might be a nod to Cupid with one of our talks…
