The Catalyst Club is a unique monthly Brighton event that pays tribute to the old traditions of French Salon, debating societies and Gentleman's Clubs.


On the night three guest speakers take to the lectern to talk for fifteen minutes on a subject close to their heart.

Rohan Kriwakzek

A British composer and violinist of part-austrian descent, Rohan is also a brilliant and accomplished performer who has worked and recorded with, amongst others, Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls. After discovering the lost art of funerary violin, he wrote a book about it which caused controversy and mischief. Tonight he will tell the history of this lost musical style, perform marvellous feats on his violin, and let us in on a well-kept secret!
